Personal Consultations

Would you like to learn how to ‘sling’ like a pro?  Need help figuring out which carrier is for you?  Or, maybe you already have a wrap or sling but can’t figure out how to position it comfortably.  Contact Sling Savvy for a one-to-one consultation – my place or yours!   Consultation fee is $25.00 for clients living in or near DuPage County, IL.  If you do purchase a sling from me, the consultation fee can be credited towards your sling purchase.

Workshops

Are you a childbirth/postpartum educator or facilitator for a parent’s group?  I’m happy to come to your class or group and  present information about selecting and safely using all types of fabric baby carriers — wraps, slings, pouches, and more!  (I demonstrate using a doll).  Example presentations are below, but I can customize a program to meet the specific interests of your group. Contact me for more information.

Introduction to Sling-Styled Carriers
This workshop, intended for parents-to-be, introduces the most popular types of sling-styled infant carriers: pouches, slings, stretchy wraps, and ABC carriers, and SSC carriers. Participants will learn about physical and developmental benefits, basic techniques, and conveniences of safely using simple fabric carriers. Examples of many types of carriers will be available for participants to try on using dolls.

Ring-Sling Intensive
Ring-slings are by far the most versatile and fashionable type of fabric infant carrier. They allow for a customized fit from wearer to wearer, a long period of usability, multiple carrying positions, simple and discrete nursing, and easy ins-and-outs. However, ring-slings do require more ‘technique’ than other types of infant carriers. This workshop will teach you all the tips, tricks, and techniques of using a ring-sling and is guaranteed to transform you and baby into a sling savvy pair!

Breastfeeding in Infant Carriers
This short presentation, intended for breastfeeding classes and support groups, demonstrates how the use of sling-styled carriers can help facilitate the breastfeeding relationship. Topics include discrete public nursing and hands-free nursing.
